A house for text lovers
Tekstin talo, the House of Text, is a new literary community and multifunctional space for text culture, located in Helsinki, in Sörnäinen, on Lintulahdenkatu 3.
Tekstin talo – Textens hus ry is made up of non-profit associations. The building is home to a number of cultural organisations and a few businesses, and hosts a wide range of cultural events. Check out our events calendar (in Finnish).

Community
Tekstin talo – Textens hus ry has the following member associations: Finlands svenska författareförening, Helsinki Poetry Connection, Kriittinen korkeakoulu, the Association for Cultural, Scientific and Advocacy Magazines Kultti ry, Mad House Helsinki, Nihil Interit, Nuoren Voiman Liitto, Osuuskunta Poesia, Suomen aforismiyhdistys, the Finnish Critics’ Association (SARV), Union of Finnish Writers, Finnish Association of Translators and Interpreters (SKTL), Suomen näytelmäkirjailijat ja käsikirjoittajat, PEN Finland, the Association of Finnish Nonfiction Writers and Tutkijaliitto.
The building is also home to Book Brothers, Enostone, F-tuotanto and the Helsinki Literary Agency.

We are currently open during events. For more information, see our events calendar. The entrance on Lintulahdenkatu is open every day from 8 am to 7 pm.

How to get to Tekstin talo
The street address is Lintulahdenkatu 3, 00530 Helsinki. It is easy to get here by public transport. For more information, see the HSL Route Guide.
By metro
The nearest metro station is Sörnäinen, which is 600 metres from Tekstin talo.
From Hakaniemi metro station, it is 900 metres to Tekstin talo.
By tram
Coming from the city centre, the nearest tram stop is Lintulahti (H0311). Tram lines 6 and 7 stop there, and it is about 100 metres from the stop to Tekstin talo.
Coming from Sörnäinen, the nearest tram stop is Sörnäinen M (H0312). Tram lines 6 and 7 stop there, and it is about 200 metres from the stop to Tekstin talo.
By bus
Coming from the city centre, the nearest bus stops are Haapaniemi (H2405) and Haapaniemi (H2407). The following bus lines stop there: 61, 64, 65, 66, 67, 600, 611, 714, 617, 623, 633, 643, 665N, 71, 73, 74, 74, 77, 78, 79N, 711, 717, 718, 721, 731, 738, 739.
Coming from Sörnäinen, the nearest stop is Haapaniemi (H2406). The following bus lines stop there: 61, 64, 65, 66, 67, 600, 611, 714, 617, 623, 633, 643, 665N, 71, 73, 74, 74, 77, 78, 79N, 711, 717, 718, 721, 731, 738, 739.
By car
There is no visitor parking. There are a few free parking spaces nearby on Lintulahdenkuja. Paid parking is available, e.g., on Lintulahdenkatu and Kaikukatu.

There are three price categories: the standard price, the community non-profit price and the price for our tenants.

- Access from Lintulahdenkatu to the lobby:
– Front door width 1050 mm
– Threshold height 25 mm, depth 50 mm- Access from the lobby to the stairwell:
– Door width 885 mm (wheelchair access perpendicular)
– Ramp height from the door 40 mm, depth 400 mm
– Threshold height (measured from the top of the ramp) 25 mm, depth 50 mm- The lift in the stairwell is not accessible:
– Door width 830 mm
– Lift width 1010 mm
– Depth 1130 mm- From the stairwell you can access the ground floor interior, where there is an accessible lift:
– Door width 880 mm, can be increased to 1330 mm by opening panels
– Ramp height from the door 40 mm, depth 400 mm
– Threshold height (from the top of the ramp) 20 mm, depth 50 mm- Accessible lift:
– Total width with both doors open: 2000 mm
– Lift width 2350 mm
– Depth 2270 mmNote: Due to the ongoing renovation of the ground floor, the accessible lift will only be usable from November 2023.
